Blush Silks to be Included in Everyone Wins Nominee Gift Bags
(Brandon, MB) Blush Silks will soon have its pillowcases under the heads of Hollywood’s most talented actors, actresses and directors, leading up to the 95th annual Academy Awards on March 12th. Blush Silks’ pure silk pillowcases will be featured in the celebrity Everyone Wins nominee gift bags, which will be presented to this year’s top Oscar nominees.
As a small city girl with a big entrepreneurial dream, Christine Steele, who along with friend Leanne Wrobel, founded Blush Silks, a silk pillowcase and scrunchie business, which began in February of 2021 in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada.
Nowadays, Steele is the majority owner of the burgeoning business, which consists of the finest silk available made of 100 percent pure mulberry silk, with the silk itself coming from the same manufacturer that has supplied silk for Disney, The Royal Museum, Palace Museum, among many others.
Opting to ‘shoot for the stars’, Steele recently emailed Distinctive Assets - a Los Angeles-based marketing company known for their creation of the legendary Everyone Wins nominee gift bags – and wound up receiving a reply just a few hours later. It didn’t take long for Blush Silks to be officially accepted as one of the items to be inserted in this year’s prestigious bags.
The Everyone Wins nominee gift bag is presented to 27 Oscar nominees in the five major categories: best actor and actress, best supporting actor and actress and best director. Some of the nominees on this year’s gift list include Angela Bassett, Jamie Lee Curtis, Austin Butler, Colin Farrell, Brendan Fraser, Cate Blanchett and Steven Spielberg and the host of the Oscars himself Jimmy Kimmel, will also receive a gift bag.
After receiving word early in November (2022) that Blush Silks had been accepted into the nominee gift bag, Steele - as she does with all her clients – wanted to make sure the Hollywood stars’ experience when it came to receiving a Blush Silks pillowcase was a memorable one. For the next couple months, Steele got to work - with the support of her husband Kevin and son Brody.
She designed a personalized gift box for each recipient and after the Hollywood stars unwrap the custom tissue paper inside sits an exquisite king-size, pure silk, pearl pillowcase and a handwritten note congratulating them on their success.
“I’m so passionate about Blush Silks and believe in the benefits of our products,” Steele added. “The benefits of sleeping on a silk pillowcase are endless. They are as soft as butter and a dream to sleep on.” says Steele
During Oscar Week, Blush Silks pillowcases will be included in a satellite media tour which includes numerous tv stations, news outlets and magazines – all asking the same question: what’s in the bag?
“Celebrity placement is nearly impossible for small companies like ours to obtain, so this is a dream come true having our brand associated with such a highly recognizable event.” Steele concluded.
Blush Silks has an online retail space, but it’s also expanded into over 40 retail locations across Canada and is now making headway in the United States as well. These locations include clothing stores, salons, boutiques, furniture stores and spas to name a few.
